Osun Govt Dismisses PDP Vote Of No Confidence In Deputy Governor

The Osun State Government has declared that Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi retains his office, brushing aside a vote of no confidence passed against him by the PDP in Ife Federal Constituency.

The constituency also passed a similar vote against Prof. Wale Oladipo, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees.

Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, said in a statement that the action amounted to an internal party dispute rather than a crisis affecting governance in the state.

He affirmed that both Adewusi and Oladipo remained “pillars of grassroots support” for the administration, stressing that their loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke and the PDP-led government was not in doubt.

“The deputy governor remains firmly in office as the governor’s second-in-command, while Prof. Oladipo continues to hold his BOT membership and chairmanship of the Osun State University Governing Council,” Alimi said.

The commissioner appealed to aggrieved PDP members in the constituency to “sheath their swords” and allow internal party mechanisms to address grievances.
