Obidient Movement Reignited: Leaders Unite for a National Summit in Abuja

The Obidient Movement is poised for a vigorous resurgence as leading political figures assemble in Abuja on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, for a pivotal event entitled “The Renaissance of the Obidient Movement.”

This significant occasion will showcase Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from 2023; Governor Alex Otti of Abia State; and Senator Nenadi Usman, the Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party, alongside other passionate leaders and citizens who advocate for effective governance and active public involvement.

A statement from the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) reveals that Mr. Obi will grace the event as the Special Guest of Honour, with Governor Otti and fellow movement leaders also in attendance.

A key component of the gathering will be a keynote speech by Professor Sam Amadi, a respected legal scholar and public policy strategist. His address, “The Inevitability of a New Nigeria,” will delve into the pressing need for political reform and national revitalisation.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, will also take the stage, joined by other grassroots leaders and civic advocates pursuing democratic progress.

A notable feature of the event will be the launch of a new book titled *Obi: The Political Change Agent*, authored by the experienced journalist Mr. Ike Abonyi, a former Group Political Editor at THISDAY and previous Deputy Managing Director at New Telegraph. The foreword is contributed by the human rights lawyer Mr. Dele Farotimi, with the book review led by Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, a former diplomat and campaign manager for the Obi-Datti presidential team.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre in Kado, Abuja, and is expected to attract a large gathering of supporters from across the country.
