Northern Nigeria Advocacy Group Inaugurates Leadership Team In Katsina

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), a leading socio-political organisation representing Northern Nigeria’s interests, has inaugurated its first democratically elected executive body for its Katsina State chapter.

The inauguration, held on Sunday in the state capital, marks a new chapter in the forum’s regional operations aimed at driving advocacy, dialogue, and development initiatives across Northern Nigeria.

Speaking after taking office, Alhaji Shehu Musa, the newly elected Chairman of the chapter, praised the organisation’s founding members, especially Senator Ibrahim Idah, for their foresight and contributions. “We stand on the shoulders of giants. Their sacrifices laid the foundation for today’s progress,” he remarked.

Shehu pledged a people-focused leadership, committed to transparency, unity, and regional development. “We will lead by consensus, informed by the voices of our members. Personal preferences will not guide our direction. Our commitment is to the people of Katsina, the North, and Nigeria at large.”

He further called on members, supporters, and other stakeholders to join hands with the leadership in driving impactful development and fostering community progress.

“We are not here to divide or discriminate. Whether you supported us or not, this is your forum too. Our leadership must represent everyone,” he added.

Other officials elected to serve alongside Shehu include Hajiya Wasila Sani-Saulawa (Vice Chairperson), Alhaji Bello Iro-Dabai (Secretary), Alhaji Abdulkadir Isa (Assistant Secretary), Hajiya A’isha Dauda-Daura (Treasurer), Alhaji Sada Salisu-Ruma (Publicity Secretary), and Lawal Kasimu (Deputy Publicity Secretary).

The Arewa Consultative Forum continues to play a vital role in Northern Nigeria’s political landscape, providing a platform for policy engagement, advocacy, and unity among stakeholders.
