NNPC Strengthens Leadership With Two Senior Appointments

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has appointed Mr Andy Odeh and Mrs Morenike Adewunmi to senior leadership positions as part of its strategy to improve stakeholder engagement and corporate communication.

According to a company statement on Tuesday, Odeh has been named Chief Corporate Communications Officer. He brings three decades of experience in public relations, broadcasting and business administration, including 26 years at Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG). At NLNG, he oversaw major rebranding campaigns, pioneered one of Nigeria’s most successful micro-credit schemes for host communities, and played a central role in creating the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting.

Adewunmi, appointed Chief Relations Officer, is a legal professional with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. During her career with Shell Companies in Nigeria, she managed high-level regulatory and government relations, ensuring compliance and safeguarding operational licences. She is noted for her expertise in stakeholder management, non-technical risks, and her ability to build influential networks across government and industry.

NNPC said the appointments reflect its ongoing commitment to effective communication, strong stakeholder relationships, and the delivery of its mandate as a key driver of Nigeria’s energy security and economic growth.
