NNPC E&P Achieves Record Oil Output Of 355,000 Barrels Per Day

NNPC E&P Limited (NEPL) has recorded its highest daily oil output in more than 30 years, producing 355,000 barrels per day on 1 December 2025.

The achievement represents a major step forward for Nigeria’s upstream sector and reflects NEPL’s focus on operational efficiency, disciplined management, and structured field development.

Commenting on the milestone, NNPC Limited Group CEO Mr Bashir Ojulari described it as proof that Nigeria’s energy revival is a reality. He noted that average daily production had risen from 203,000 bpd in 2023 to 312,000 bpd in 2025, a 52 per cent increase.

Ojulari emphasised that the milestone demonstrates that with strong leadership, enhanced systems, and a committed workforce, Nigeria can meet ambitious national targets, including two million bpd by 2027 and three million bpd by 2030.

Executive Vice President, Upstream, Udy Ntia, underlined the importance of sustainable and responsible operations, ensuring that scaling production does not compromise safety, environmental protection, or community welfare.

NEPL Managing Director Nicolas Foucart said the record reflects the broader transformation taking place across NNPC, driven by effective leadership, strategic partnerships, and a dedicated workforce focused on long-term progress.

As the flagship upstream subsidiary of NNPC Ltd., NEPL continues to play a central role in Nigeria’s oil and gas exploration and production, demonstrating its capacity to deliver sustained growth and bolster the country’s energy sector.
