Ninga: PDP Poised For Renewal As Convention Nears

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prepares for its national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, from 15 to 16 November, optimism is building within its Nasarawa State chapter.

The State Chairman, Mr Adamu Ninga, believes the convention could mark a turning point for the party, uniting members and refocusing its energies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after an expanded meeting of the State Executive Council in Lafia on Wednesday, Ninga described the upcoming event as “a milestone in the PDP’s renewal journey.”

He said: “We are more united and determined than ever to reclaim our rightful place in Nigerian politics, especially here in Nasarawa State.”

According to him, the Ibadan convention will not merely be about electing new national officers but will also provide an opportunity to resolve internal disagreements and reassert the party’s vision for the country.

Ninga emphasised that his leadership would prioritise inclusion, fairness, and internal democracy, ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants in the build-up to 2027.

He announced that women would play a significant role at the convention, with four delegates selected from each of the 13 local government areas in the state.

Describing Nasarawa delegates as “responsible and disciplined,” Ninga said they would vote for credible leaders capable of steering the PDP toward victory.

Political observers view the convention as a critical test of the PDP’s ability to consolidate its internal structure and present a united front ahead of future elections.
