Nigerian Governor Demands Justice After Wedding Party Ambushed In Plateau

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has called for urgent action after 12 of the state’s residents were reportedly killed in a violent ambush in Plateau State while travelling to attend a wedding ceremony.

The attack occurred in the Mangu Local Government Area, leaving 12 dead and at least 11 others wounded. The incident has further inflamed tensions in a region often troubled by outbreaks of violence.

Describing the assault as “an act of savagery”, Governor Sani issued a strongly worded statement from Kaduna on Saturday, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

“There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to launch such a barbaric attack against fellow citizens. This senseless violence must end,” he said.

The governor urged Plateau’s Governor Caleb Mutfwang to ensure the situation is brought under control and tasked national security agencies with acting swiftly to prevent further bloodshed.

“I will personally oversee developments in the investigation and operational response. The era of impunity must be brought to a close,” Sani vowed.

He also extended condolences to the families of those killed and expressed hope for the quick recovery of those injured.
