The Nigerian Air Force has invited Nigerian youths to contribute ideas on the future of air operations by participating in the 2025/2026 Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Literary Competition.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the competition is part of broader efforts to engage young people in national security discourse and emerging technological trends.
Ejodame said the competition, which opened on 21 November 2025 and will close on 28 February 2026, is designed to stimulate creative thinking and promote informed engagement on issues related to modern air operations. He noted that the initiative was introduced by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, to provide a platform for youths to express innovative perspectives on security and technology.
Participants will compete in three categories — Essay, Art and Poetry — centred on the theme “Optimising Emerging Technologies for Enhanced Air Operations.” The Air Force said the theme underscores its commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies to strengthen operational readiness and address future security challenges.
Beyond the competitive aspect, Ejodame said the programme aims to foster stronger civil–military relations and empower young Nigerians to see themselves as stakeholders in national security and technological advancement.
He encouraged interested applicants to review the competition guidelines for full details on eligibility and submission requirements.
