Nigeria: Influential Politicians Will Join NNPP Before 2027 – Kwankwaso

The National leader and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso has urged their elected governor, Senators and members of the National and the States Houses of Assembly to work together in building the party adding that influential politicians will join them before the 2027 general elections.

According to Kwankwanso, the elected members must work hard and go back to their constituencies and get more members.

Kwankwaso, who also congratulated the elected members of the party, said they must tighten their belt, return to their constituencies and work much harder than they did in the past.

Kwankwaso made the call at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NNPP held in Abuja yesterday.

The NNPP presidential candidate said almost everybody in Nigeria now believe that the NNPP is a party for the future.

“Because after this election, I had reasons to talk to so many people on the telephone, some visited me to say that now they have seen the light and before 2027 they are going to join our party,” Kwankwaso said.

“The challenge of time is very critical because this is the first time in the history of this country where we have a party, especially after the establishment of the party across the country within the shortest possible time, has this sort of popularity based on integrity, hard work, commitment and love for this country.

“I also believe that we have four good years to restrategize, and reposition the party so that more people can be accommodated as members and of course the leadership at various levels of the party so that Nigerians can have an opportunity to have the positive change that our party, the NNPP stands for in this country,” Kwankwanso said.

On the poor quality of the NNPP logo shown in the ballot paper, Kwankwanso said: “I think it is an opportunity to say that all our members were not happy with the way and manner our logo was presented on the ballot papers.

“It’s so sad that we had to face those challenges at the last minute. Most people, including myself, had to struggle very hard to identify our logo. I believe that our party will now sit down and work out how we can present our logo for the next election.

“The problem with our logo is the quality of printing and Now we are going for elections in three or four states.

“We don’t want to be in a hurry to go to court on some of these issues. But I believe under normal circumstances, what INEC presented as our logo, in a civilized society, is good enough to cancel the national election. we were disenfranchised.

“We are not properly presented or represented on the logo and that went a long way in creating so much difficulty for our candidates and therefore for the party.

“What I expected to see is what we presented; a basket of fruits with colors so that people will know. These are the fruits and anything short of that, I believe will only repeat the challenges that we faced in the last election.

Earlier on, the party’s National Chairman, Prof Rufai Ahmed Alkali said it was a good fight adding that they made a bold statement that today, the NNPP has become a party whose proven integrity and commitment to a better Nigeria is uncommon and unprecedented.

“What happened in Kano State, the largest and most populous state in Nigeria, is operations to demolish the Dinosaurs where in just one election season, all those who st by byood against the progress and advancement of the people of Kano were swept away like a hurricane to the dustbin of history.
