The Federal Ministry of Works is set to appoint a new contractor for the Ekim–Odukpani portion of the Calabar–Itu Highway following the termination of Raycon Construction Company’s contract.
During an inspection on Saturday, Works Minister Senator David Umahi said Raycon had demonstrated an inability to execute the project satisfactorily. He explained that the ministry had no option but to replace the firm to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Umahi stressed that the next contractor would be carefully selected based on proven competence and capacity to meet the project’s requirements.
