Nigeria’s National Examinations Council (NECO) has warned job seekers to be wary of fraudsters after an online post falsely claimed the agency was recruiting new staff.
The clarification came in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday by Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations. He said the alleged job announcement had no link to the council and was aimed at deceiving unsuspecting applicants.
“NECO under the leadership of Prof. Dantani Wushishi will always respect due process and federal guidelines when recruitment is approved,” Sani said, stressing that the organisation has no ongoing employment drive.
The exam body urged members of the public to ignore the publication and remain vigilant against fraudulent job schemes exploiting its name.
