The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed a notorious terrorist hideout at Arra in the Sambisa general area of Borno State.
The airstrike was launched following a directive by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) to neutralise terrorists’ threats after a deadly ambush on troops in Borno State.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was triggered by the October 17, 2025 attack in which a Brigade Commander, several soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were killed.
He explained that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai commenced the strike mission on November 19, 2025, after a series of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations tracked terrorist movements around Kashomri.
“Persistent ISR over Kashomri and the Sambisa axis revealed suspicious activities and active terrorist structures at Arra, prompting a deliberate, intelligence-driven strike,” Ejodame stated.
According to him, NAF air assets acquired and engaged designated targets through coordinated, successive passes.
“The strike achieved its intended effect with the complete destruction of all identified targets, significantly degrading the terrorists’ operational capabilities and disrupting their command and logistics networks,” the statement read.
Ejodame reaffirmed that the successful mission underscores the NAF’s commitment to protecting the nation, supporting ground forces, and maintaining pressure on terrorist elements across all theatres of operation.
