Authorities in Kwara State have lifted the usual movement restrictions associated with the monthly sanitation exercise to enable candidates to attend the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) mock examination.
In a statement issued by Shakirat Muritala, spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment, the Commissioner, Nafisat Musa-Buge, confirmed that the sanitation exercise would proceed as scheduled on Saturday from 7:00am to 10:00am.
However, unlike previous exercises, residents will be allowed to move freely during the period.
The commissioner said the decision was taken to ensure that students sitting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock test could reach their examination centres without disruption.
She also encouraged residents to continue participating in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their surroundings, noting that waste disposal services would be provided to support the effort.
