Debris from an intercepted missile struck a ship in a port area near Bahrain’s capital Manama, sparking a fire that killed one worker and seriously injured two others.
The Interior Ministry made this known on Monday.
The blaze has since been extinguished, the ministry said in a post on X.
The incident came amid Iranian retaliatory strikes targeting the U.S. allies and positions in the region.
Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, a key centre for American military operations, in the Middle East.
The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain had advised its citizens to avoid hotels in Manama, warning they could become targets of attacks.
