Marafa’s Supporters Refuse To Follow Him Out Of APC In Zamfara

Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State on Monday rejected former Senator Kabiru Marafa’s decision to defect from the party, declaring their loyalty to the APC leadership.

Marafa, a former lawmaker, had recently announced his exit from the APC. However, his political structure in the state suffered a major setback as supporters from all 14 local government areas resolved to remain in the ruling party.

Speaking in Gusau, Abdulkadir Mijinyawa, former administrative secretary of Marafa’s political group, said the decision was taken after wide consultations.

“On behalf of thousands of supporters across the 14 LGAs, we are not leaving the APC. We are not satisfied with the decision of our former political boss, Sen. Marafa. We remain in APC,” he said.

He affirmed the group’s loyalty to state APC Chairman Tukur Danfulani, former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari, and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, pledging to work for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Responding, Danfulani, represented by the party’s secretary, Ibrahim Dangaladima, welcomed the development, assuring the supporters of equal treatment in the party.

Prominent attendees included Abdulkadir Mijinyawa, Abubakar Sadiq, Bello Biyara, Shamsu Kasida, and chairmen of Marafa’s political group from all 14 LGAs.
