Leah Sharibu: Foundation Urges FG To Protect Vulnerable Groups

The Leah Sharibu Foundation has called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts toward the protection of vulnerable Nigerians.
Dr. Gloria Puldu, the President of the foundation made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Jos.
Puldu spoke in commemoration of Sharibu’s seven years in captivity.
She said that Sharibu’s continuous stay in captivity was an infringement on her fundamental human rights.
“Sharibu’s continuous stay in captivity is a grave violation of her fundamental human rights and religious freedom.
“We demand justice for Sharibu, who is the face of those who are denied education, freedom of their religion, and women and girls in any form of captivity.
“We call on the Federal Government to provide adequate security to vulnerable groups in all parts of Nigeria.
“We are particularly calling on President Bola Tinubu to fulfil the promise made by the Buhari administration, to rescue Sharibu and all Nigerians currently in captivity,” Puldu said.
NAN recalls that Sharibu was among about 110 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe, in February 2018.
While her classmates were later released, Sharibu was held back by her abductors.(NAN)
