The Lagos State Police on Wednesday arraigned 51-year-old John Ajose before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting a man with a sharp object.
Prosecutor ASP Edet Ekpo said the incident occurred on 25 August at Setomo Compound, Ajido, where the defendant and others at large conspired to attack the complainant, Olubiyi Oluwaseun, leaving him injured on the hand.
Ajose pleaded not guilty to the charges, which contravene Sections 411 and 137 of the state’s Criminal Law.
Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of ₦50,000 with one surety, and adjourned the case until 18 September.
