Labour Party Still Nigeria’s Credible Alternative — Sen Nenadi Usman

Interim National Chairperson of the Labour Party (LP), Senator Nenadi Usman, has reaffirmed the party’s status as the most credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), urging Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area, Usman described the Labour Party as the most people-centered among the country’s leading political platforms.

“We are committed to restoring national dignity, rekindling hope, and delivering governance that truly serves the people,” she stated.

The acting chairperson lamented the worsening hardship across the country, noting that the suffering of the masses has reached an alarming level.

Addressing recent defections of LP members to the APC, Usman said the party remained unshaken and continued to enjoy broad grassroots support.

“Some of those who left never genuinely believed in our vision. Their exit has brought clarity and strengthened internal cohesion,” she said.

Admitting that the party had made some missteps in its previous candidate selection processes, Usman noted that lessons had been learned.

“Going forward, we will be more deliberate in selecting candidates who align with our mission of building a new Nigeria,” she added.

She also appealed to aggrieved members to “sheathe their swords and close ranks” as the Labour Party prepares for a nationwide membership revalidation exercise, congresses, and its national convention.
