Kunle Afolayan, the Nigerian filmmaker, has expressed his frustration over the “high level of incompetence” among job seekers in Nigeria.
The movie producer took to his Instagram page to criticize the lack of preparedness and inefficiency of many unemployed individuals in the country.
Afolayan lamented that many people cry about not having jobs, but when they get one, they are “inefficient”.
“l am so saddened by the high level of incompetence in our beloved country,” he wrote.
“A lot of people cry about not having a job, but when they get one, how efficient are they at it? I’m so pissed.”
Afolayan, 50, started his acting career when he featured in ‘Saworoide’, a film by Tunde Kelani’s Mainframe Pictures.
He has produced several award-winning movies including ‘October 1’, ‘Phone Swap’, ‘Figurine’, ‘The CEO’, and ‘Anikulapo’.
He is also the founder of the KAP Academy, which provides training and mentorship opportunities for young aspiring actors and filmmakers.
The academy has partnered with international institutions to offer training in various aspects of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, and production design.
Participants also have the opportunity to produce short films during graduation, showcasing their skills and talents.
