Kontron Transportation Receives €26m Order From Czech Railways

Kontron Transportation, a subsidiary of German tech company Kontron Group, said on Tuesday it had received a 26 million euros (30 million dollars) order from the Czech Republic’s national railway operator, Czech Railways.

In a statement, Kontron said the project was commissioned by the state organisation Správa železnic (SŽ).

The project involved the rail network modernisation on a route stretching from the German border to the Czech cities of Dolní Žleb, Kralupy, and Vltavou.

The contract follows a previous €34 million contract awarded in late 2024 for expanding the GSM-R system in the country.

It provided voice and data services required for daily railway operations.

“Správa železnic has been a highly valued customer for many years, and we are very pleased to be able to contribute to the further modernisation of rail transport in the Czech Republic.’’

Petr Vitek, chief executive of Kontron Transportation in Prague, said this. (dpa/NAN)
