Kano Cautions ACF Over Move To Set Up Advisory Council

The Kano State Government has urged the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) to avoid duplicating its Kano Elders Advisory Council (KEAC), established earlier this year.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, the government stressed that Governor Abba Yusuf had launched the KEAC in January 2024 to serve as an advisory body of eminent citizens across diverse fields.

Waiya explained that the KEAC is intended to be a neutral and non-partisan platform, leveraging collective wisdom to guide policy and foster development.

He reaffirmed the administration’s open-door policy and called for collaboration rather than duplication, adding that the KEAC’s structure would soon be finalised and inaugurated by the governor.
