The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, and philanthropist, Chief (Barr.) Dumo Lulu-Briggs, are among distinguished Nigerians to be honoured at the 2025 Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards.
The event, organised by the Peace Ambassador Agency and the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation, will take place on 8 November 2025 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
Also listed for recognition are Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr Emmanuel Paddy Iyawu, and Kabiru Ishaq Sa’id, among several others.
Themed “Peace Building Through Sectoral Partnerships: Public and Private Sector Collaboration,” the 15th edition of the awards will also feature an honorary presentation from the American Management University, California, USA.
Project Director (Africa) of the Peace Ambassador Agency, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, said this year’s ceremony marks 15 years of promoting peace, advocacy for social change, and support for national development in Nigeria and across Africa.
According to him, “The prestigious honour recognises hard work and the positive impact of recipients on Nigerian society, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation.”
Amafibe revealed that the night would feature music, comedy, a fashion exhibition, and other attractions.
Other awardees include Mrs Asu Kunemofa of the NDDC, Sourav Mukherjee of the Koikata Society for Cultural Heritage, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnahasi of Iyke Jordan Group, Dr Abdulrazak Mohammed, actress Amb. Dr Precious Okah, and Amb. Prof. Smelly Dube of Zimbabwe, among others.
Proceeds from the annual awards, Amafibe said, have continued to fund projects such as Peace Education Campaigns, Health Outreach Schemes, and Back-to-School initiatives, all aimed at enhancing social development and complementing government efforts at various levels.
