Kaduna Launches Drive To Boost Voter Registration

Authorities in Kaduna State, north-west Nigeria, have urged residents to come out in large numbers for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that broad participation is essential for inclusive governance.

Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, speaking on behalf of Governor Uba Sani, said the administration was committed to ensuring no eligible voter was left behind. “This mobilisation drive reflects the governor’s vision of a people-centred administration where every voice counts,” he said.

To raise awareness, the state has partnered with the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, the Bureau of Religious Affairs and traditional institutions to reach communities at the grassroots level.

Maiyaki appealed to youth groups, women’s organisations, civic actors and local leaders to lend their support to the registration drive, which he said is crucial for protecting democratic rights and encouraging citizen participation in shaping Kaduna’s future.
