Kaduna Hisbah Command Urges Citizens To Register, Support CVR Exercise

The Kaduna State Hisbah Command has expressed strong support for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing it as a vital step toward strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

This is contained in a statement signed by Malam Abdullahi Bayero, Commander of the command ,under the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria.

The command encouraged all eligible Nigerians to take full advantage of the exercise, which includes new registrations, transfers, corrections of personal details, and other related updates.

“This process is fundamental to ensuring that every eligible citizen can participate meaningfully in the electoral system,” he said.

Bayero particularly urged young Nigerians who have recently turned 18 to seize the opportunity and register as first time voters.

“Registering to vote is not only a constitutional right but also a civic responsibility that empowers citizens to shape the future of our nation,” he stated.

Bayero also appealed to parents, guardians, community leaders, civil society groups, and religious institutions to support and mobilise sensitisation efforts across the state.

“Every eligible person registered is a step forward toward a more inclusive and representative democracy,” he added.

The command reminded the public that participation in the electoral process begins with ensuring that their data was correctly captured in the INEC register.

Bayero advised the citizens to make necessary corrections or transfers to avoid being disenfranchised in future elections.

“As a body committed to promoting discipline, social order, and civic responsibility, we will continue to partner with stakeholders to encourage law-abiding participation in all constitutional processes,” he said.

Bayero concluded by urging all theeligible citizens to register, saying, “your vote is your voice, make sure it counts.” (NAN)
