Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice for 13 residents of the state killed in a mob attack in Mangu, Plateau State, in June.
The victims, including 11 from Unguwan Dantsoho village, were travelling to a wedding in Qua’an Pan when they were attacked and killed. Their deaths drew national outrage and prompted Sani to pledge support to their families.
At a road project flag-off in Kudan on Tuesday, the governor said:
“God entrusted me with the responsibility to protect lives and property. I will not rest until justice is achieved for the victims.”
He recalled fulfilling earlier promises of financial assistance and housing for the bereaved families. The 6-kilometre Hunkuyi–Bassawa road, he explained, was part of his response to community concerns raised during his condolence visit.
Sani criticised previous leaders for neglecting Kudan, one of 12 local government areas that had seen no road construction in over a decade. He vowed to take development beyond urban centres, announcing plans for a new hospital in Unguwan Dantsoho and financial aid for women.
Commending residents for upholding peace despite the tragedy, Sani urged them to continue, stressing that “meaningful development thrives only in a peaceful environment.”
