JAMB Releases Results Of Rescheduled UTME Today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will today, Wednesday, release the results of the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was conducted between last Friday and Monday.
JAMB rescheduled the examination following widespread outrage over the poor performance recorded during the initial UTME. Out of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the exam, more than 1.5 million scored below 200 out of a possible 400, sparking alarm among stakeholders.
In response to the outcry, JAMB launched an investigation and discovered both technical and human errors, particularly in Lagos and several Southeast states. These failures were found to have significantly affected candidates’ performance.
Last week, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, publicly accepted responsibility for the errors. In an emotional moment, he shed tears while announcing that affected candidates would be given a chance to retake the examination.
However, the board confirmed that the results of the rescheduled UTME would be released today.
News has also gathered that a press conference is scheduled for this morning to officially announce the release of the results.
