INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Kaura Namoda South Lawmaker-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday in Gusau, Zamfara State, presented a Certificate of Return to Kamilu Sa’idu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the newly elected member representing Kaura Namoda South State Constituency.

Sa’idu emerged victorious in the rerun election conducted last Thursday in five polling units across two registration areas. The rerun followed INEC’s decision to declare the August 16 by-election in 109 polling units across six registration areas of Kaura Namoda Local Government inconclusive due to alleged irregularities.

Presenting the certificate, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Mahammud Isah, described the process as free, fair, and credible. He commended stakeholders for their cooperation, congratulated the lawmaker-elect, and urged him to remain committed to bringing development to his constituency and the state.

In his remarks, Zamfara APC Chairman, Alhaji Danfulani Maikatako, expressed satisfaction with INEC and security agencies for their conduct during the polls. He said the victory reaffirmed APC’s acceptance in Zamfara and assured party supporters of efforts to resolve internal challenges and reposition the party to reclaim power in 2027.

Sa’idu, in his acceptance speech, thanked the party leadership and supporters for entrusting him with their mandate. He pledged to leverage his experience to bring meaningful development to Kaura Namoda South and the state at large.
