The Emir of Ilorin, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has condemned an armed assault on church members in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing it as both “worrying and reprehensible.”
His comments were contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Press Secretary, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona. The Emir expressed disappointment that such violence could still occur at a time when authorities are working to stem the tide of terrorism, banditry and other criminal threats.
He called on security agencies to redouble their efforts to secure the release of those abducted in the attack and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
Sulu-Gambari prayed for peace and for divine comfort for those affected.
The Kwara State Police Command earlier confirmed that suspected bandits killed two people and left another injured in the incident.
