An Ibadan magistrates’ court has granted bail to five men accused of stealing industrial equipment worth ₦11.2 million from a company in the city.
The accused — identified as Thomas Akaachir (24), Suleiman Musa (20), Yunusa Mustafa (19), Anas Mohammed (23), and AbdulRahman (22) — are facing charges of conspiracy, breaking in and theft.
Inspector F. H. Adesina, prosecuting, alleged that on 24 August the defendants conspired to burgle Jifas Company, located in the NASFAT area near Toll Gate, Ibadan, carting away extruder spare parts and electric motors.
All five pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate I. O. Osho admitted them to bail at ₦3 million each, with two sureties apiece of equal value, and directed that the sureties’ bank statements reflect the amount.
The matter has been adjourned until 11 December for hearing.
