Hon. Blessed Onah, Member representing Oju I State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has once again raised his voice with rare courage, declaring that the Igede Nation will never be reduced to second-class status in Benue State.
The outspoken lawmaker condemned in clear terms the exclusion of the Igede people from the state’s Christian pilgrimage to Israel, describing it as a calculated insult and a brazen attempt to undermine inclusivity. He warned that any attempt to sideline his people would be fiercely resisted.
In the same breath, Onah championed the cause of young brilliance, pressing for the recognition of Egboja Fortune Iji — an Igede son who emerged among the best WAEC performers in the state. He argued that excellence must never be ignored, stressing that “when you deny recognition to talent, you commit a crime against the future.”
Egboja, now admitted into a private university in Abuja, stands as proof of what becomes possible when young achievers are supported. Onah made it clear that nurturing such talent is a responsibility that cannot be compromised.
His fearless interventions have drawn admiration across Benue, reinforcing his reputation as a voice that cannot be bought, silenced, or intimidated.
Hon. Onah has once again proven that leadership is not about bowing to convenience but about defending justice even when the cost is high. To the Igede people and beyond, he stands today as an unwavering guardian of equity — the roaring voice of a nation that refuses to be erased.
