Sequel to an earlier warning, Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has relieved 27 political appointees of their duties with immediate effect.
The termination of the appointments, which was dated 24th April but took effect on May 1st, was conveyed through a formal notice from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The affected officials include Senior Special Assistant Benjamin Marabhim and several Special Assistants such as Saturday Ederi, Oba Itaziba, Puemoni Marcus Ikisikpo, Sampson Agundu, and Kotor Olali, among others.
Others disengaged were members of various committees including the New Media Team and the Grassroots Mobilization Committee, such as Afebo James Kodam, Kingsley Ezen, and Joy Sunday.
The directive, signed by Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, Deputy Chief of Staff, also instructed the appointees to immediately stop enjoying any government entitlements and return all state assets in their possession.
