Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has praised the Nigerian Army for its professionalism and unwavering commitment to national security, describing the force as a crucial pillar in the state’s continued peace and stability.
The Governor made the remarks while receiving the new Commander of the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Colonel S. O. Beke, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Gombe.
In a statement released by his Director-General on Press Affairs, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, Yahaya commended the military’s role in keeping Gombe among the most peaceful states in Nigeria’s North-East region. He attributed the achievement to the synergy between security agencies operating under the state’s coordinated security architecture.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to deepening collaboration with all security formations, noting that peace and stability are the bedrock of Gombe’s development agenda.
Colonel Beke, in his remarks, pledged to maintain and strengthen cooperation between the military and civil authorities. He assured that the 301 Artillery Regiment under his command would prioritise intelligence sharing, joint operations, and community engagement to prevent security breaches.
He reaffirmed the regiment’s resolve to preserve Gombe’s reputation for peace and ensure that the state remains a model for security management in the North-East.
