A German government delegation is set to travel to New Delhi in an effort to strengthen economic and labour ties with India.
Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck is due to leave for New Delhi with a business delegation on Wednesday.
He would be joined by Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday to open the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in the Indian capital on Thursday.
The economic conference is organised by German business representatives and the Economy Ministry.
Habeck also plans to meet Indian ministers and attend a hockey match before his return trip on Saturday.
The Economy Ministry says the trip also aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy, which it hopes would bolster a more climate-friendly economy.
Habeck is also to be accompanied by Labour Minister Hubertus Heil, who wants to discuss recruiting skilled workers with the Indian government.
