FIFA Club World Cup: Chelsea Cruise Into Next Round With 3-0 Win Over Esperance

Three late goals in each half were all Chelsea Football Club of London needed to advance to the next round of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a dominant 3-0 win over Esperance de Tunisie.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match, which was played at the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium, Philadelphia, U.S., had no fewer than 32,967 fans in attendance.

Tosin Adarabioyo got Chelsea into the lead three minutes into the first-half stoppage time, before new signing Liam Delap doubled the lead just seconds before the break, putting Chelsea in a commanding 2-0 lead.

Chelsea restarted the game and responded to the half-time talk by picking it up from where they left it in the first half.

Christopher Nkunku missed an opportunity to add to the tally in the 58th minute when he glided a chance from a fine team play.

Noni Madueke failed to make it 3-0 in the 63rd minute when his opportunity scrambled through the goal mouth to the disappointment of the few Chelsea fans at the match.

The centre referee awarded Chelsea a penalty with a quarter of an hour remaining in the game, but the video assistant referee (VAR) overturned the on-field decision.

Tyrique George made it 3-0 on the stroke of the seventh added time to give the London-based English Premier League side a commanding end to the game.(NAN)
