Father Ondo State Attorney General Marks Father’s Day With Tributes To President, Governor And Late Father

In a poignant statement released on Sunday to mark Father’s Day, Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Kayode Ajulo (SAN), extended tributes not only to his late father, Chief Solomon Ajulo, but also to national figures including President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ajulo described President Tinubu as “the father of modern Nigeria”, praising his role in steering the nation toward unity and economic reform.

“President Tinubu’s leadership is shaping a future rooted in resilience and progress,” he said. “His political vision and strength set an example for all Nigerians.”

Turning attention to the local sphere, Ajulo lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa as a fatherly figure within Ondo State, applauding his commitment to citizen welfare and leadership style rooted in empathy.

“The governor’s leadership has brought stability and care to our state,” he stated. “He is more than a political leader—he is a guide, mentor, and protector of the people.”

Ajulo used the occasion to also reflect on the personal significance of Father’s Day, paying tribute to his late father. Recalling the lessons and strength his father imparted, he spoke of a legacy that continues to influence his professional and personal life.

“Though my father is no longer here, his teachings endure,” he said. “He shaped my values, guided my steps, and remains a constant presence in my heart.”

Acknowledging that Father’s Day can stir a range of emotions—from celebration to grief—Ajulo encouraged people to honour not only their own fathers but all father figures and mentors in their lives.

“Whether by sharing memories or simply offering thanks, today is a day for reflection and gratitude,” he said. “Let us appreciate those who support and uplift us.”

He called on Nigerians to reach out to mentors and leaders, expressing appreciation for their influence while striving to mirror their virtues.

“As we build a better future for our communities, let’s draw strength from the examples set by our fathers, both familial and national,” Ajulo said. “To all fathers, leaders, and mentors—thank you. We celebrate you.”
