Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has commenced a thank-you visit to the six area councils following the Feb. 21 area council elections.
The tour began on Tuesday in Bwari Area Council, where Wike said the visit was to appreciate residents for supporting candidates aligned with President Bola Tinubu during the election.
“On behalf of Mr. President, let me thank you for fulfilling your promise to support the candidates backing Tinubu.
“He asked me to convey his gratitude and assure you that he will reciprocate,” Wike said.
He emphasised the importance of political agreements, noting that when promises are made and fulfilled by both parties, it strengthens trust between leaders and the electorate.
Wike added that the Tinubu administration would provide Bwari with the necessary support, stressing that politicians must honour their commitments to the people.
He pledged to work closely with the Chairman-elect of Bwari Area Council, Mr Joshua Ishaku, assuring residents that requests channeled through the chairman would receive prompt attention.
The minister also appreciated traditional leaders in the area, promising to accord them due honour and respect in line with their roles in community development.
In his remarks, Ishaku thanked Wike for the visit and commended his efforts in advancing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda within the FCT.
Describing Wike as a “humble father,” the chairman-elect assured him of Bwari’s continued support, expressing satisfaction with the developmental strides recorded within two years of his tenure.
