Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC), Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bold reforms are already resetting Nigeria on the path to stability and prosperity.
Dogara described the anniversary as a moment for sober reflection and renewed commitment, noting that Nigeria’s greatest strength lies in the courage and resilience of its people. He commended President Tinubu for taking historic steps such as the removal of fuel subsidy, stabilization of the financial system, and renewed drive for investment, which he said are “difficult but indispensable decisions” to secure a stronger future for the country.
“No reform of this magnitude comes without sacrifice. What President Tinubu has done is to confront the roots of our stagnation and chart a course for renewal. Nigerians must therefore be patient and united, for these reforms will soon yield visible dividends,” Dogara stated.
He assured that under his leadership, the NCGC is working in alignment with the administration’s vision by expanding credit access to entrepreneurs, women, and youths across the federation. According to him, empowering small and medium enterprises remains a critical pillar for inclusive growth.
Dogara further urged Nigerians to resist division and despair, stressing that unity and endurance are essential in confronting insecurity, poverty, and inequality.
“Nigeria at 65 is not a call to lament, but a call to believe again in the promise of our nation. With faith, sacrifice, and leadership, our best days still lie ahead,” he affirmed.
