Deputy Speaker Pays Tribute To Former President Buhari, Citing Legacy Of Integrity And Service

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, has paid tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, whose death he described as a profound loss to Nigeria and the wider world.

In his statement, Kalu highlighted Buhari’s legacy of personal integrity and his well-known intolerance for indiscipline—a hallmark of both his military leadership and civilian presidency. He singled out the so-called “rice revolution” as a notable achievement that strengthened Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

“President Buhari’s life exemplified the values of leadership and dedication to the welfare of our people,” Kalu said, adding that his influence would continue to inspire generations to come.

The Deputy Speaker extended his sympathies to Buhari’s family, President Bola Tinubu, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as the former president’s friends and political associates.

Kalu concluded by expressing hope that Nigerians would draw strength from Buhari’s example as they work toward a better future: “May the Almighty grant him eternal peace and comfort those left behind during this period of mourning.”
