Deadline for Tinted Glass Permits Pushed Back to August 12 Amid Public Concerns

The Nigeria Police Force has extended the deadline for tinted glass permit enforcement to August 12, 2025, following significant public feedback regarding the digital application process.

Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun sanctioned the extension to allow for necessary system improvements, ensuring it is “user-friendly, secure, and accessible to all.”

In a statement issued on Friday, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained that the extension provides the NPF with the opportunity to implement “additional enhancements and refinements” to both physical and online application methods. “The Force wishes to affirm that it has not ignored the voices of Nigerians,” stated the release, underscoring the role of public input in ongoing reviews.

The NPF reiterated that the official application platform is [www.possap.gov.ng](http://www.possap.gov.ng) and warned against unauthorised charges. Citizens are encouraged to report any improper or hidden charges, as well as extortion during the application or biometric capturing process, directing their complaints to the police hotline at 09169967000.

This extension is part of the police’s commitment to simplifying verification procedures and reducing delays in the permit approval process. The NPF is dedicated to “public safety, digital innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery,” and appreciates the “cooperation and patience” of Nigerians during these reforms.

Motorists who have not yet regularised their tinted glass permits now have until August 12 to complete the process before enforcement begins. The NPF assures the public that the extended period will be used to address concerns and improve system efficiency.
