Dangote Sugar Donates Transformer To Boost Power Supply In Adamawa Community

In a bid to support community development and restore electricity, Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR), Numan, has donated a 300KV transformer to Bare community in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The donation was announced by Alhaji Bello Danmusa, General Manager of Operations at the refinery, during the commissioning of the Pages of Hope Library in Bare community on Tuesday.

Danmusa explained that the intervention was necessitated by the destruction of existing electricity infrastructure by unknown vandals, which plunged the area into darkness.

“The new transformer will be installed alongside the reconnection of damaged electric wires on utility poles across the community,” he said.

He emphasized that the gesture aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting host communities and promoting sustainable development.

“We are dedicated to improving livelihoods, strengthening local economies, and advancing development in communities where we operate,” Danmusa added.

He also expressed hope that the restored power supply would enhance the educational experience at the newly inaugurated Pages of Hope Library, a facility established by the Dr Lee Foundation to assist underprivileged children in the area.

Highlighting the company’s broader reach, Danmusa noted that the refinery operates in the southern senatorial zone of Adamawa, serving communities across five local government areas.

He further stated that DSR has, over the years, implemented numerous projects focused on improving infrastructure, education, and social welfare, in line with its long-term CSR strategy.
