Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed October 31 for judgment in a suit seeking to stop the 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged violations of the party’s constitution and internal rules.
The judge announced the date after hearing arguments from both parties on Tuesday.
The suit was filed by three aggrieved PDP officials:
Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, Chairman, Imo State PDP
Hon. Amah Abraham Nnanna, Chairman, Abia State PDP
Turnah Alabh George, Secretary, South-South PDP
They are asking the court to halt the convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, where new national officers of the party are expected to be elected. The plaintiffs claim the planned convention breaches the provisions of the PDP constitution.
