Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is on a state visit to China, in Beijing on Tuesday.
During their meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis and agreed that China and Brazil, as peace-loving and progressive nations, should enhance communication and coordination on the issue.
They emphasised the importance of giving full play to the role of the Group of Friends for Peace and expressed support for direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.
“We will work with countries in the Global South to continue playing a constructive role in resolving the crisis,” the leaders said in a joint statement.’
