China Backs U.S. Peace Plan To End Gaza War

China has declared its support for the U.S.-led peace plan aimed at ending the ongoing Gaza war, urging both Israel and Palestine to immediately agree to a comprehensive ceasefire and release all detainees.

Foreign Ministry spokesman, Guo Jiakan, made the call on Tuesday, stressing that Beijing supports all efforts to ease tensions in the region.

“China is committed to the principle that Palestinians must govern Palestine and that the two-state solution must be implemented,” Guo said.

The peace plan, unveiled by U.S. President Donald Trump, contains 20 key points. Among them are:

The rapid release of hostages held by Hamas in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

An Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

The establishment of a transitional Palestinian technocratic government, supervised by an international committee.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted the proposal on Monday, raising hopes for a breakthrough in the conflict.

China, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has reiterated its willingness to work with the international community to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East.
