Buhari’s Demise Huge Loss – Mutfwang

Gov Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a monumental loss to Nigeria.

This is contained in a condolence message by Dr Gyang Bere, the Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPPA) to the governor, on Monday in Jos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari, 82, died on Sunday at a London Hospital, after a protracted illness.

Buhari was Nigeria’s military head of state between 1983 and 1985.

He also served as civilian President of Nigeria between 2015 and 2023.

Mutfwang, who extolled the contributions of the deceased towards the progress of Nigeria, urged his immediate family and residents of Katsina State to take solace in God.

“I received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This is a monumental loss, not only to his immediate family, the people of Katsina state, but the nation and Africa in general.

“The death of the former President at this critical juncture in Nigeria’s democratic journey, has deprived the nation of his wealth of wisdom in the pursuit of peace, unity, and stability,”Bere quotes Mutfwang as saying.

Mutfwang, who condoled with President Bola Tinubu over the loss of the former leader, called on his immediate family to take solace in God. (NAN)
