The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra, Mr Basil Ejidike, has described late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, as a disciplined leader who pursued the part to better Nigeria.
Ejidike said this on Tuesday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka
He said Buhari was a leader with integrity.
“Buhari has done his bit. There is no doubt that he did his best to make Nigeria great.
“He contributed his quota to the development of Nigeria.
” Buhari was a double statesman, having been our military Head of State and civilian president.
“Our hearts go out to the immediate family, the government and people of Katsina and the entire country.
May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
The APC chairman highlighted late Buhari’s disciplined nature and unwavering commitment to public service and nation-building, both as a military officer and democratically elected president.
He said that late Buhari’s tenure was marked by significant efforts to combat corruption and improve the nation’s infrastructure.
He said this was reflected in the rehabilitation and construction of roads and initiation of the Social Investment Programmes (SIPs).
NAN recalls that Buhari died at about 4: 30 pm on Sunday at a private clinic in London, where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
The Federal Government has announced that the national flag would fly at half mast for seven days as a sign of mourning the late former leader.
His remains would be buried according to Islamic rites on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State.
The last past president was born on December 17, 1942. He served as the President of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.
He was military Head of State from December 31, 1983 to August 27. 1985. (NAN)
