A British national, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, has miraculously survived the catastrophic Air India plane crash that claimed the lives of over 200 individuals in Ahmedabad, India. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was en route to London’s Gatwick Airport when it crashed shortly after take-off, engulfed in flames.
According to Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik, Ramesh, who was seated in seat 11A, is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained to his chest, eyes, and feet. “Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane went down. It all happened so quickly,” Ramesh recounted to Indian media, recalling the harrowing moment.
The flight, AI171, had 242 individuals on board, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian. Tragically, over 204 bodies have been recovered from the crash site, with the death toll likely to increase.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities striving to determine the factors that led to this tragic incident. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life,” stated Air India officials, extending their condolences to the families of the victims.
