Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has handed over 63 patrol vehicles to security agencies in a bid to reinforce security and improve response operations in Maiduguri and its environs.
The vehicles were distributed among several security outfits, with 30 going to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), 16 to the Rapid Response and Anti-Social Vices Squad, 10 to paramilitary agencies, six to local hunters, and one to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Zulum said the support reflects his administration’s continued commitment to equipping security personnel with the tools needed to maintain peace and stability.
“This distribution is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s security system and support the operations of our security agencies,” he said during the presentation ceremony.
He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue backing the military, police and paramilitary forces in their quest to eradicate insurgency and restore normal life across Borno.
The governor also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and support to security operations in the region.
“I sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to ending insurgency, as well as the service chiefs, theatre commanders, and officers of Operation Hadin Kai for their exceptional efforts,” he said.
Zulum’s government has consistently provided logistics and operational support to security formations since 2019 as part of its broader strategy to secure Borno and facilitate recovery in conflict-affected areas.
