Emphasizing the need for restraint, Modi called for dialogue and diplomacy to address the situation. He also reaffirmed India’s condemnation of Hamas’ October 7 terror attack on Israel and disclosed the dispatch of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine following discussions with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Israeli Hostage Retrievals: Body of 19-year-old IDF Corporal Recovered:
The Israeli military announced the retrieval of the body of 19-year-old Noa Marciano, an IDF corporal, near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Days after a Hamas video claimed Marciano’s death in an airstrike, the IDF recovered her body and transferred it to Israeli territory.

Recovery of Yehudit Weiss’s Body:
Additionally, the IDF recovered the body of 65-year-old Yehudit Weiss near Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital. Weiss, kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, was found dead, and her husband, Shmuel, was among those killed. The circumstances of their deaths remain unknown.

Allegations and Denials at Al-Shifa Hospital: Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the largest medical facility in the enclave, became a focal point of conflict after Israeli forces raided it. The IDF released a video alleging a “tunnel shaft” on the hospital grounds, claiming it was used by Hamas. The Hamas-run government media office denied the allegations, calling them “baseless lies.”
