Bandits Abduct 11 In Kwara State Community, Including Pregnant Woman And Children

Armed bandits on Monday night attacked Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area, abducting 11 people. The raid comes exactly a week after a separate attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in the same local government, where 38 worshippers were kidnapped.

Reports indicate that Eruku and Isapa are neighbouring communities. Witnesses said approximately 20 armed bandits stormed Isapa with a large herd of cattle, firing indiscriminately. An anonymous source claimed an elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet during the assault.

A local community leader confirmed the abduction to journalists, noting that the victims included a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several children. Sources indicated that ten of the abductees are northerners who had settled in Isapa, while one is an indigene.

Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details, stating:

“Yes, there was an incident, but I cannot say much now. I am about to enter Isapa from Ilorin. I will update you when I get there with more details.”
