APC youths drawn from the 21 local government areas of Kogi State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, presenting a ₦100 million cheque towards the purchase of his 2027 presidential nomination form.
The presentation was made on Sunday at a rally held at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, attended by party leaders, youth groups and supporters.
Presenting the cheque, the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Mr Babangida Onimisi, said the endorsement was unanimous and aimed at sustaining what he described as President Tinubu’s transformative leadership.
He said the youths believed the President had laid a strong foundation for a better Nigeria and deserved the opportunity to consolidate his policies.
Mr Onimisi also praised Governor Ahmed Ododo for his performance in office, assuring him of youth support ahead of the 2028 governorship election.
Also speaking, APC National Youth Leader, Mr Dayo Israel, said the programmes and policies of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo had had a positive impact on young Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots.
Kogi APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, said President Tinubu would be remembered for economic reforms, while Governor Ododo’s leadership style had fostered growth and development in the state.
Responding, Governor Ododo described the youths’ action as a strong statement of confidence in President Tinubu’s vision. He said the 2027 election would be a choice between progress and empty rhetoric, adding that the President’s success was directly tied to the future of Nigerian youths.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that hundreds of APC youths participated in the rally.
